Quick Diseqc Question!

Hi All,

Please can somebody let me know if ALL diseqc motors have the 'go to X' function?

Also, is a Super Jack dg-120 a good motor and does it have the x function!

A few older motors are only Diseqc 1.2 and so will not work with USALS. Pretty much all the motors made now have some form of branding to indicate that they are USALS compatible.

Names such as: Diseqc 1.3, GotoX etc...

Hi. All Diseqc motors have the GOTO function. As Digicon said years ago motors only had Diseqc 1.2 functions. Nowadays they use Diseqc 1.2 and USALS. The difference between the two is that Diseqc 1.2 is a manual search and storing of the satellites. USALS is an automatic search. There are two types of the GOTO functions .
a) GOTO REFERENCE - This will move the motor to the zero position on the motor dial.
b) GOTO (sometimes refered to as GOTO X)- This option is used to select a satellite within motor menu and send it there. With Diseqc 1.2 this option will only work if satellite has previously been found and position stored otherwise motor will NOT move as it wont know where to go. With USALS motor will move dish to satellite selected automatically

In my opinion you are always better off using, if possible, USALS rather than Diseqc 1.2. Hope this makes sense.

It should be as far as i remember they had the GotoX listed on the packaging but dont take my word for it the only way to know for sure is to try it yourself. Even if it does not work you can always use Diseqc 1.2 no biggie really.
