    cccam glitchy and freezing

    Hi guys,

I must of now tried in the region of 15 different 24hr test "providers" all of which tend to freeze for at least a few seconds, maybe once or twice every few mins.

Now, am I expecting to much for free or is this an example of providers just being greedy and overloaded. Only reason I ask is because these providers have in the region of 100+ comments saying how fast and freeze free the providers are. Surely these all cant be false reviews/comments.

Is there any way I can prevent the freezing, like installing oscam?

    btw- fta channels run fine.

Clearly its an internet related problem and be weary of talking openly about servers on the forum.

Could be the CCcam that you are using or a dodgy tuner but what kind of snr are you getting on the premium channels.

I would start by checking all cables and connections and make sure you are not downloading torrents which will greatly affect things.

Greedy overloading servers will affect picture quality

My internet connection is 4mg, dont have any torrents running as my computer would not be switched on, however sky tend to throttle at peak times, so hope this doesn't effect it.

      cccam im using is CCcam_2.2.1

box im using is VU+ duo, so dont think it could be a tuner issue

Premium channels show snr on 45% and agc is 97%

      thanks

Snr well to low but you can get a picture with low snr but hd channels dont like it.
        Motorised or static dish mate.

Although you dont say which sat you are pointing at, i would say thats your problem not the internet, get your dish set up right you will not get that kind of glitching

Always think when it could be multiple problems is to try the box on another set up and see if the results vary.

Rules out half your problems but fingers crossed the dish or lnb are shagged.
Edit, motorised dish probably needs tweeking are you using Usals?
Could be wrong long and lat.
              Andy.

yep using usals, long and lat defiantly correct, come to think of it, i have been having problems with my dish getting stuck and not moving, maybe it is stuck on a position not quite bang on 28.2e. Will see if i can reset to 0 and then back to astra

Sometimes when a dish is out you can gradually alter the long and lat and that will change it but it definately sounds like the dish is out of line.

Tried resetting to 0 then back to 28.2e with no dramatic difference in SNR. Will try changing latitude by a few degrees to see if this improves the SNR. If no joy with that, tomorrow i will connect the receiver upto my static dish which i use for freeview and see what reading i get.

think you mean LONGITUDE here, you cannot alter latitude without getting up the ladders and physically altering the motor elevation

also, you mean freesat not freeview, as freeview comes through a terrestrial aerial , not from a dish

as you have a static dish you should have tried it on that as soon as you noticed a problem

I would also agree that your signal seems way too low for 28.2e and should be better than your static dish readings

dont need a meter mate go to the ladder get someone to watch the box (menu setup service searching positioner setiup) and watch the snr bar easiest way mate
