    Which Box??

Ok so i've got a dreambox 500s which i bought to play around with and work out how to use it, thought for the money if i blow it up i'm not too much out of pocket.

Now i want a reciever with HD 1080p. But i seem to be running round in circles trying to decide. I'm on a tight budget and looking for something under ?150, so unfortunately i know the all singing and dancing models are well out of my range. The options so far are:

    - Skybox F3 HD ?50
    - DM800 HD PVR (M-tuner) ?135
    - VU+ Solo HD ?119

One feature i would like is to have the 7 day epg on 28.2e which i believe isnt available on the skybox f3, but with the price difference i could live with out it.

Now the question is which one? can anyone help? is there another box i should be considering?

    Thanks

go for the vu solo clone its the best of the three you have picked

no patched firmware to worry about unlike the dreambox or f3

and its got the 7 day epg you need and a wide range of plugins

your other options is a blade bm7000 or tm5402 these both are 1080p

and have more or less a 7 day epg

Sky dont broadcast in 1080p, so dunno why the box being in 1080p is a big issue..

Dont bother with the dm800 hd, the DM800se if far superior in my eyes, so much stable than the other.. with no overheating

Totally unfounded it is all down to your own choice at the end of the day. Read up on both and make your choice then.

the only problems on a vu solo may be not having a v2 sticker so people may put firmware on first rather than research done to load the new kernel or usb sticks not working.

I have just about every receiver going.

stay away from anything closed source < sub ?100 they are really not worth it.

so that leaves you with the DM800 vs VU Solo.

DM800 clones - known issues are noisey fans and heat issues, these are easily fixed by replacing the fans and using an external cooling fan.

VU Solo - no noisey fan , slightly cheaper and takes original images.

so if your comparing those 2 boxes it has to be the VU Solo.

satstore.tv is a recommended shop. (they supply them setup)

I used to be pro DM800 but since the VU clones came along they are quality, side by side to an original you would never know! (I have the original Solo and Duo to compare!)

.... If you have more money in your pocket for a twin tuner go for the VU Duo Clone, you wont be dissapointed!
