use sky + and openbox

    use sky + and openbox

    ive currently got a sky plus hd box and a openbox s9 connected to one sky mini dish
    i have to take out the feeds in the sky box to use the openbox
    is there a spillter which can help so i dont have to unplug the feeds all the time
    i use both boxs to record to they both use two feeds
    any guidance will be thankful for

    you need to run a separate shotgun cable feed from the 2 spare outlets on the quad lnb to the openbox

      ive got a octo lnb on dish and use other outlets (feeds) in different rooms

        in that case you are maxxed out and need a second dish

            i use it too record now and again so need two feeds
            if i bought two these would they work (one feed per box) 2 WAY TV SATELLITE COAXIAL CABLE SPLITTER ADAPTOR TWO WAY TV VIRGIN MEDIA SKY | eBay

              no , splitters wont work and you can damage boxes as each box sends out 13 volts or 18 volts to the lnb,s to control them

              and you cannot control one lnb from 2 boxes with any splitters

              you could use a manual A-B switch to switch one feed between 2 boxes

              but ideally every tuner should have its own dedicated lnb feed

                You can use a multiswitch with your existing set up. Choose one that will provide the number of outputs you need.
                Connect 4 of your LNB cables to the multiswitch inputs. Then use it's outputs to feed as many household sockets as you wish. If you want, you can also use the remaining 4 feeds from your Octo to their existing sockets.
