Anyone used a mobile for wifi to STB

My mum has just got herself a new mobile phone with unlimited internet, the phone allows her to turn it into a wifi hotspot. I am wondering if anyone has used the wifi on their mobile phone to provide a connection to a STB with a wifi adaptor ( like a Tenda etc ) for connection to a remote server providing CCcam ?? I can set it all up for her at her caravan in wales and then she gets Satellite TV !

sure I have read somewhere that you can also connect mobile to laptop and create a bridge to do the same thing

Be aware that Tmobile do packet checking, and will block certain packet 'shapes'. The shape of a common moustachiod aquatic mammal falls within this block.

slightly different but i bought an edimax 3g router
and used a tmobile dongle in the back of it. worked great
it uses very little data. only used about 4mb whilst watching for around 4hrs

I have problems with Cryptobox in general connecting by wifi. Like you it gets it IP but refuses to move the required data.

You could try connecting your computer to the iphone tether and then in computers Network Sharing Centre. Make a new connection, ad hoc Computer to Computer wifi hotspot.

tried yesterday it wouldnt work. Had another bash today and its working, although glitching.Glitching isnt down to the server but must be the 3g connection. I am using the usb wifi adaptor that was supplied with the box.Anyway of improving this?
