    which dish?

hi i'm new to all this used to have a eurovox in the past so think i will get hang of it okay, but as i have vm and not sky i do not have a dish.

so that brings me to buying a dish what is good one to get? and where from? i dont want to go crazy here so a good value option would be nice.

( i read a motorized one is pritty much a must is this true?)

    thanks tom

a triax td88 dish and a technomate tm2600 motor are good value components for a first timer and with a inverto black ultra lnb and t+k brackets can be bought for around ?100-?120 if you shop around and will get you all the strong satellites between 45e and 45w(line of site and location dependant of course) with a bit of rain fade margin, regards mdt

Certainly adds a lot more viewing, having just had one installed but its not a must, well it was for me, but if you just want to watch 28.2 a basic dish/setup will do you fine, and that will always be there, even if/when you decide to go motorised at a later date.

Well most people have just a fixed dish. If you want sky channels then you need just a fixed dish.
If you want to pick up foreign channels from all over Europe, then you'll need a motorized set up.
Ive personally just got a fixed dish pointing to (28.2) and im happy with that.

depends were you live... a zone1 or zone2 raven dish will suffice for [email protected]/5east although id go with a td54/64 for extra rain margin and a black ultra lnb. regards mdt

I can get some others on a fixed, dish from 19 and 13, depends on your budget and such also.

I Prefered to do it step by step, so started off with a basic dish and dreambox 500 and upgraded step by step, but thats only cuse funds were tight as well, but it helped with the learning curve.

You will get more off 28.2 (s*y uk alone, than you got off your kryptview).

Personally i would go for a fixed 60cm dish and have 3 LNB's fitted for 28.2e, 13e and 19e. This will get you plenty of sport and pron.... Fill yer boots mate.

If all you are wanting to watch is Sky Uk, that dish is perfect. It will allow you to connect up to 4 receivers ( Hense the quad output ) Or you can connect up to 2 recievers with twin tuners. The choice is yours, but dish is good.
