    wireless connection for spiderbox 9900hd

    Hi All,

Im getting a spiderbox 9900hd box with the free service +.

Does the spiderbox need to be connected to the internet to watch the service plus.
If it has to be connected what is the best wireless dongle to get ,as I dont want a cable ,
as I would need at least 15 meters to go around my living room to the router
I was going to buy the vu uno ,but I cant afford to pay more than 250 quid ,that a includes postage to spain,
and wireless dongle so the sb 9900 is a bit cheaper and would be my first box so
maybe next year I,ll get a vu uno. Have seen a Spiderbox on ebay 199 quid and the fella will set it up for me too

I seen this dongle on a website is this the one I need.

Vonets VAP11G USB WiFi Bridge IEEE 802.11B/G

    Thanks for any replys

    Mike

service plus no longer exists, but its replacement (ethernet) still requires the same internet connection, so yes

for wireless you need a vonets or tenda wifi adapter to allow it to connect wirelessly to your router

or buy a set of homeplugs instead

      Hi Ramjet ,

Thanks for the quick reply. which one is the easiest to setup.
I dont know anything about this so the easiest way is best
for me.The routers out here in spain are different to the ones at home.

I cannot tell you anything about routers in spain, nor if you can plug in homeplugs in spain either, I am talking about the matter from a uk perspective, and my advice is correct for the uk equipment market

easiest to setup would have to be a pair of homeplugs as there is little or no setting up involved and power is taken from the mains

but a vonets wifi adapter is normally plugged into a laptop or pc, setup to give it an ip address and ensure its working , then plugged into the satellite or cable box. if necessary a psu is also used to provide power if no usb port is available for powering the unit
