RF Modulator

Need to get an rf modulator for a friend. I have a mercury rf working perfect but that is mine.

I have one of these but cant seem to get it going, I presume these are not for satellite distribution.

The link to the first one does not work, your second choice would require that the said receiver had an analogue output as in yellow for video with the usual red and white for audio.

Why not buy the same one you have from fleabay works with every receiver i would imagine.

Yeah I know I can get a good working rf modulator for around ?20 but I already had this box in the house.

Just makes sense to get it going if its possible. But I believe its maybe an rf modulator for gaming consoles. Im not sure really...

Wouldnt a Wireless AV Sender do the job better for not much more money? A wireless sender would provide composite video which is much better quality than RF, and it would also allow remote control to function.. And it would be wireless..

True, I did think about the wireless sender and yes it is not much dearer if you just want to do the one room but if you are looking to distribute to several rooms then it could turn out quite costly.

As for remote control function, this is a bonus for sly box but with dream/vu all you need is iphone with the handy app

Thats the thing though about rf, its really poor quality to HD, even a big difference to scart...

I have picked up the sky channel through this thing but quality is really poor.

Maybe its due to there not being a channel selector on this modulator.

Its coming through on channel 52 but picture is unwatchable.

When I do it through my sky plus box, it assigns channel 22 as rf channel and this is perfect quality.

Just a thought if you are also sending your freeview signal down the same line then its possible your getting interference from a digital mux on the same frequency in your area. Could also be interference from other devices in your household or even from the modulator itself.

No freeview in our area, sky box distribution is fine.

Im actually trying to distribute it from a vu solo box. I have my vu solo connected to my hdtv via hdmi but Im using the red/white/yellow rca to distribute it through the house.

Is that maybe a problem, do I have to change anything on the vu box so it works through hdmi and the rca

Will maybe just order a proper rf modulator box that Im used to, dont think this one is up to much...

Iv been after a good modulator for a while apprantly the ones from maplins are decent but not tried one yet.
