both satellites are out

hi all, at 10.30 this morning both my sats wnt out and i could get no signal. small sky dish and a 1m technomate. this has never happened before, is it common to completely loose the signal during heavy rain and dark clouds?

i have had this set up for 10 months and its never happened before.

if it is the weather, why now? is there anything i can do to stop it?

Maybe your coax cables have water ingress?
Bigger dishes will cure rain fade to a degree but really heavy rain can effect all dishes within reason.
Check all connections.

Hi. Its the wrong type of rain... No it happens to most people , i have a 1metre dish and get problems. Its not the clouds but the heavy rain which covers the dish amd makes the signals weak. I am thinking of putting an umbrella on the dish ..
