    new blade 7000s faulty possibly

Just bought a blade 7000s and i seem to be having a few problems here with it....

On Youtube the audio and video stutters all the time and i get the occasional stutter on the tv picture...i have factory set it with new software but still have the same problem .My youtube works fine on my pc though with the same modem....

Last night i did notice when the screen seizes the box makes a small clunking noise and also does the same when its switched off and the front panal light is on ..Any ideas? Thanks Rhurbarb

ps whats the software suppose to show when you factory reboot it?

Youtube on the BM7000s is very poor. Not usable for me.

Check that you are getting good enough signal from the satellite. Update the firmware to the latest. If this doesn't work and you are getting a strong signal then yes it will be faulty

        Hope the update does it.

Don't forget to do a factory reset with the firmware update.

Thanks one question here...When i do a factory reset it shows the last firmware ive loaded in the system info..ive added new firmware in and its loaded but shows my ip network address before i even set it up...How do you totally format this machine ..do you format through a serial lead or something or am i missing something? Thanks Rhurbarb

you wont manage that although you could use a factory firmware to put it to normal , and turn off dhcp too

I have found it remembers some settings like cs and ip address but its easy to "zero" the info and save by removing it manually with the remote

factory firmware should also remove cs as its not patched so may help in resetting the box too

Yes seems to be ok now. I factory reset it through the button on the front cant remember which one have to see the posts..I think it was software...just make sure you put on a different software 1st so it clears your old one then put in your preferred software .I say this because if you factory set n do this you know its wiped the old software ...Hope this helps steve...rhurbarb

ps check in the menu and note the software name when u load up so you know its written over the existing one

I did a factory reset, and loaded an older firmware version. It seems to be OK for a while and the the picture starts freezing/jumping even on free channels. I have a strong satellite signal too. I've swapped the blade around with a technomate I have in the bedroom and had no problems so far with the technomate. If the Blade still freezes in the bedrrom I suppose it must be faulty and will have to go back. Only had it about 3 weeks!

I've sent it back now anyway and bought another one. I was going to get a TM5402 instead but I'll give the blade one more go. The new blade I have has been fine, so far...........
