I have seen this on Ebay for ?85.00... How easy is it to operate...I know loads about PC's but nothing about satellite TV. Are they just plug and Play?? Are they OK/easy to update?? Any advis ewould be gratefully appreciated..Thanks in advance.
any HD or SD box will let you get freesat from there
if you want to use a c or n line then get one that can be patched in order to add it
then its down to budget, simple or hard (closed source or linux open source) and single or twin tuner, and any pvr capabilities
if you arent using a c or n addition, it makes no real difference what you buy, except HD boxes give you HD channels of course (as well as SD channels like the spiderbox 5000)
that "gift" on a spiderbox 5000 is irrelevant for 28 east astra 2/eurobird
So really I need a motorised dish to really benefit then?? I really am new to this and any help would be appreciated.

I did mention a motorised setup in my post 2 reply
once you decided against it and decided on a fixed dish pointed at 28.2 east you limited your options but as far as boxes go they all get the same if you dont add a little "spice" to the mix and so the issues of how many tuners ? linux or non-linux and budget come into play
a good all round box to consider is a blade bm7000s or a spiderbox 7000 or 9000 , at least using one of those you can benefit in the future as you learn more or add more, without having to suddenly buy another box
