    pick your brains

    hi guys,

    new to the site, i just bascially want some advice on starting up,i was going to go for a motorised 60cm dish,but have now scrapped that idea and upgrade the dish to 80cm, i am going to give it ago and install myself. Regarding reciever i have been looking at Technomate 5400 Ci+ usb super, Openbox s9 hd pvr, or dreambox. Which would get your vote
    And one other thing i have been watching a few of these boxes on ebay, could anyone explain the gifts they are advertised with.

    Also could someone pm me, with regards to patching(and what this actually achieves, and regarding sly uk channels

      I suspect you mean a tm5402 HD , not a 5400

      out of your selection a dm800 would get my vote, but also consider the blade bm7000s , spiderbox 7000 or 9000 , or a vu if you want to go linux like the dm

          you can patch a receiver as many times as you want, you will not be able to decode anything when it comes to sky. Before investing, make sure you know what you are getting into, its hard frustrating and timeworthy.
          If you want to keep it as simple as possible, the openbox would be the simplest but that leaves you in a difficult position when you get into the 'SHARING' world...

                  Not sure how these will work on motorised setup, been told the newer model the f3 won't work on motorised. But cheap basic box
