    Advice needed please

Hi, i have just taken over a pub and there is a pretty big dish still up and a technomate 5400 usb super already installed, what do i need to do to watch the 3pm kick off games. I want to have a motor on too, i have looked on liveonsat and the canal sport+ looks like they are showing most of the games

    thanks

Go Legit you know what those Snooping Sly Gobshites are like anyway have a look on here to see what you want.

    Code:
    http://liveonsat.com/lvs__footy_b_E-P-L-o-n-l-y__.php

The 5400 is SD only but will take a softcam so while its still open Bulsat at 39? east will get you Diema and Nova sport for free no English comms but also could go off at any time, the odd free one broadcast on 7? east GRTS few and far between with a HD receiver you could load the Biss key in for PLTV on 10? east while it lasts.

Legit wise its ?2000 for an ADsport IPTV receiver no dish required just a min of 2mb download speed and you have every 3pm at your disposal.

    Regards

all the tvs are wired in by coax anyway, there are 5 altogether and a projector and wiring hdmi would be a pain. there is also a viasat box in the cupboard with all the other boxes, can that be put to any use?

Depends which Viasat it is, more than likely its the Baltic one that finished showing the 3pm's i know loads of Pubs/Clubs got duped last year with these paying nearly ten times the original price of what they are actually worth if sourced elsewhere.

On the other hand if its a Swedish/Norway one then your in luck you can try and renew the card yourself if its expired and you will have access to at least 1 game, you can tell the Swedish/Norway box it says Viasat HD on the front if it does not it's a baltic one and is about as much use as a doorstop.

The 5400's you have presently are more than likely feeding the other TV's through a switch, So to keep costs down use these again or get another TM5402HD for the HD and show HD on one screen and channel the RF out to the rest.

Hmm im not quite sure which one it is, i know its made by pace and the dish which is up has a dual feed LNB, one feed goes to the TM box and one to the viasat.

I have just taken a look at the iptv way, but its alot of money to fork out just yet really for me incase the turnout for matches is pretty poor. If i can get it running using the parts i have as a trial then that would do me fine and go down the iptv way if its worth it

you really need a motor and a HD box to get anything useful

PLTV on 10e has been useful this weekend and tonight, but its HD so needs a HD box and a motor or a dish pointed at 10e

getting football on a sat system is a complicated issue and dominates forums all the time, so there is no one size fits all for nowt, plenty to learn and some good advice already

I wouldnt bother with any SD boxes, and although I still have a few they dont get used at all

get a HD box and a motor and you got a chance but not much chance with a fixed dish and old SD boxes

there are so many to choose from, and not knowing your skills its difficult to say

but a spiderbox 9000 or tm5402 or blade bm7000s for bespoke boxes like your old tm, or a dreambox or vu if you want a more complicated linux box

a HD box will always pick up SD channels, but the SD box you have cannot access HD channels

then you need a motorised dish in order to get channels from different satellites in order to maximise the availability

as for motors, a darkmotor superior and inverto ultrablack lnb are good choices and what I use with a spiderbox

Ok so ive just looked at them what you mentioned, the LNB, Motor and a TM 5042 for around ?200 which is reasonable, from the dishpointer site it looks like my dish is already at 10 east but i shall get a motor.

Would i just need some keys to upload to my box then after that?

If it is already feeding the Viasat box as you say then its pointing at 4.8 east and will have to be moved, As ramjet pointed out you would be better with a motor and decent Black Ultra LNB.

Your viasat box by the way could be the swedish or baltic one whats the model number.

I agree with the above post

your dish would be pointed at 4.8 east not 10 east to take advantage of viasat, the difference is minimal so how you managed to use dishpointer to deternmine this is beyond me

I would have got an fta channel up and checked kingofsat or lyngsat to determine where the dish was pointing and I very much doubt that any pub would have a dish actually pointed at 10 east except by motorised means

Im all abit new to this sort of stuff, i had an openbox once upon at time on cccam but that was pretty straightforward.

Im not sure on what model i can find that out but if i can get a new technomate,on the PLTV channel, which liveonsat says is at either 10 east or 7 east so i would do what ramjet advised. I Shall go down and find out the model number on viasat so we can determine what we can do with it.

Sorry to be a pain im not a technophobe at all but i have never dabbled in sat systems before. So any help is appreciated

Also i used the dishpointer on my ipad and brought the map up and sort of tried to trace where it could be pointing and it appeared to be pointing in the east direction

Please bear in mind also that even fixing the dish in place at 10? east and opening PLTV for the footie this is still not a guaranteed channel to stay like it is in fact i thought they may have changed the key by now seeing as its in the public domain.

Take Ramjet's advice and go with the motor

I have had a look about and it appears i have a viasat hd box with a 1.2 meter dish dual feed LNB Going into it i have found some paperwork for it and it was only installed a year ago , The Technomate 5400 is connected to a smaller dish on the chimney but i cant see it properly until them morning its too dark.

With having the viasat hd box i presume its a hd capable LNB mounted on the dish, could i use that dish if i put a motor on with a TM 5402 and get onto 10 east PLTV and any others which may crop up

                            Thanks

I have attached an image of the viasat box i have already

The dish and LNB are fine for motorising should be no problem, The Viasat box could be a Swedish package one is it still running as these are normally taken out on 2 year subs
