You can subscribe to Setanta without having SKY.

They either send the signal to your card which might not have a sky sub on it or they can send you a new card.

You may have a box but no card so how do they expect you to subscribe...they send you a card.

You can get direct from Setanta 12 months for ?169.99
      or ?16.99 a month

I think your ?350 is from other websites "offering" their services.

I already know you can subscribe for 16.99 euro's if are are a resident in Ireland or ?9.99 in N Ireland but what about living outside these, like in the England?? On there website there are only the above options https://secure.setantasubs.com/ni

Just after some advice on this.

I want to subscribe to Setanta Ireland but i live in Manchester. I can't do it directly myself as i don't live in Ireland.

I have English friends who live in Ireland near Knock.

What's the best way for me to get a Setanta card.

I have been told that my friends can order the card, but can still use MY UK bank account to pay for it,
If they used my name at their address in Ireland.

I was told that Setanta will accept UK bank accounts if the subscriber is living in Ireland.

Is all or any of this correct ?

If anyone has any other ideas, please feel free to advise.

            regards
look on their site, u call up , add it to ur sky card, ?17 a month for 2 channels

I am in Manchester though & not the Republic & my sky card is UK registered so i don't think they would allow it.

I would love to do that though ofcourse.

                Worth a try i guess.

                  setanta

the simple reason you can't get Setanta in England is they aren't allowed trade there after financial difficulty a few years back
strange cos they're based in NI.Have never seen a setanta smart card in Ireland you get Setanta via Sky card or UPC Cable the other option is free by subscribing to Eircom Broadband good news may be forthcoming though as it is rumoured Setanta may begin streaming it's services

why would you want that card, they only ever show liverfool games!
on a serious note, if you can, try and get all the channels on one card..

This is what I done. Me and a few mates split the cost and ordered online from a 3rd party.

Or get a friend in Ireland to get a card for you & send it over by post.

That's what i did in the end & many others do the same i am sure.
We all know someone who lives in Ireland i would guess.

Saves paying double the price when ordering from a third party company.

Setanta is a separate company to Sky & as such you can have Setanta on it's own white card with no Sky on it at all.

Some people dont like Sky so don't have it but they do like Setanta, so they choose that instead.

If you live in Ireland, Setanta will most likely send you a white card with Setanta channels on it, if you don't have Sky in Ireland.

If you do have sky, they can put it on the same card if you so wish.

Setanta will ask you if you already have Sky & will then use that card, but if you dont't have Sky, they send out a new card for you to use.
