    Audio output on Eaglebox HD800 - Can this this receiver output 5.1?

    I haven't set up the receiver yet, wont be doing that till the weekend. Just opened it up to read the manual and it says:
    Audio Mode: Left, Right, Stereo
    SPDIF: Set to Bitstream, Mute, PCM

    This is bugging me as from my understanding;
    Bitstream - will send the raw digital audio without processing out of the receiver to the Amplifier to process/convert.
    PCM - the player will convert all audio and output as 2 channel PCM.

    Or have I got this wrong? why isn't it Linear Multi Chanel PCM etc? Or is that not needed as if anything broadcasted on a channel is 5.1 it's likely to be AC3 Dolby Digital.

    So to my question, does this receiver definitely output 5.1 from the Digital Coax 1xRCA? As i definitely require 5.1 output. Do any of you know the answer, have you tried it?
    If the receiver sends raw Multi channel digital audio through the digital coax, then it's upto the Amplifier to decode it on the fly. If this is the case then my Amp will only accept DD/DTS/AC3 as it cannot decode AAC.

    Also how come the USB port is at the back, i'm sure most Eagle HD800 (non Mini) are at the front under the flap with the Card slot. I guess some boxes are shipped with the USB port at the front or back?

    The Box and the manual seems all legitimate, there doesn't appear to be any false advertisements like there originally was with the lan share, youtube etc. Regarding favorites etc, it mentions that you can create favorites, move channels in order of preference and rename channels etc. I guess i'll see if this is a lie or not .... In the hardware section of the manual i'm sure it said it has a 300mhz processor and 2x ddr2 512mb ram, uhmm. I'll do a lil recording of the unboxing later today. The manual does mention about the decoding of video H.264 codec and AAC audio codec etc, but in the file formats, it doesn't mention MKV etc, just Avi, VOB, MPG, Dat. And regarding the digital coax rca ouput, instead of mentioning you can gain a 5.1 audio experience from that it just says "use for a better stereo experience" .

    [Edit] Yeah in Main system specifications in the manual it says:
    CPU - 300Mhz, BGA.
    Flash - 64M Byte
    S-Dram - DDR2 2X512M,Byte.

    It should output DD 5.1 from the RCA at the back, as for the Linear Multichannel PCM not in a million years not enough room/bitrate to accommodate a lossless audio track on a satellite Transponder.

    DD5.1/AC3 is used as its at its lowest form on satellite at around 356kbps thats why its used.

      Yeah that's what I'd of thought but the Digital Out port is black, and usually that means it is likely to be 2 channel stereo only. Orange digital out port usually means multi channel. So i'm kinda worried iv'e bought a box that just wont have 5.1.
      I know 5.1 can be carried through HDMI on the receiver, but I have no way of getting that to my Amp.
