hello all, im thinkin of gettin another sat box currently on openbox s10 in living room, thinkin of one in backroom, so ive borrowed a box to test, its a nova box but i cant scan cos it doesnt search for sats its entered manually, anyone any tips on getting it to scan for the sky chans its connected to a normal sky dish

if its a nova box for the broadcaster nova on 13e I cannot see it being capable of accessing 28e channels
I also would not expect a sly box to access nova sports or nova movies on 13e hotbird either -
can i not put in the details in the settings?Comment

i was just wantin to test the existin wire running from rooom to room that it wud pick up the chans before sorting everything elseComment

Hi. If you have only one dish and wish to connect two receivers you need a dual/quad LNB . You have one cable from LNB to first box and second cable from LNB to second box. To test your Nova box i would do the following:
1) Disconnect the LNB cable at the back of Openbox receiver.
2) Connect this LNB cable to Nova box. Make sure box is also connected to tv etc.
3) Manually enter frequency 10774H s/r 22000 in Nova box and see if it lets you scan. It should give you BBC1, BBC2 channels etc. If it does you can try other frequencies as well.
If all ok then you only need to connect a second cable from LNB to Nova box.
