skyHD & freesatHD run of the same dish @ the sam time

Hi i hope someone could help me on this.
basically i have skyHD in one room and i used a magic eye for the 2nd room, instead off paying for sky room+
as you know both TV can only watch the same channel.
so what i'm asking if i get a freesat HD box and connect it to the sky dish will that work or would i need a extra dish?

Yes you can use your Sky dish, but you may need to change the LNB for one with more outputs (quad, octo) if your current LNBs outputs are all used

If your skydish has been fitted within this last few years its likely you have a quad lnb fitted which means that with your sky hd you are only using two outputs so you have another two which you could connect to another two recievers. hope this helps

i assume if i get pvr, will this interfere with the sky?

I've looked around and there's quite alot of HD receivers out there.
cut to the chase, I'm looking a for HD receivers for the second room,
that does the same as sky+ and i can also get the sly channels aswell and running from the same dish as my sky hd box?
which is the best box to go for!!!

a vu plus or the clarke et series are probably the best 2 for doing the task you require, especially as you can add a hdd inside them and they are twin tuner models (there will be others)

the involved part is the setting them up, flashing images and adding and using plugins

the hardest part is to get your cs running once you obtain one as otherwise you will get very little in the way of scrambled channels and no sly channels, only freesat channels, so you will need ethernet running from the router to the new box, or homeplugs or a tenda wifi adapter

to get scrambled channels on boxes in 2010 to 2012 onwards its not as simple as the old euros where you just patched it and everything opens, although the guys that made it that easy are probably sat in a room 10 by 6 with access to sly channels, but dont get out much

Hi thanks, so i'll think i'll get et9X00 model and i have a homeplug already connected the to TV i'm buying it for.
would you be able to provide links to everything i need to get this set up right? i checked that sat-shop includes F/W installed ready for plug&play but does that include the sly channel once i connect to a homeplug?

Did something like this by setting up a diseqc switch one on a motorised dish and the other on the sky dish to my box, new sky dish had a quad lnb installed so i just run a cable from it perfect! Got most of my items from fleabay cheap as chips. You can get all the help you need from here as the guys on this site will help if they can.
                        Keep calm carry on.
