            Dish setup with Spiderbox 9000HD

Hello Ramjet, you have helped me in the past, lately I couldnt log in and have had to re register to gain access. Previously I was logged in as einsvonzehn.
Now I have a setup problem on my spiderbox 9000HD. In manual scan setup menu, Satellites when tuned show a signal 's' as a green band 65% and quality 'q' as a blue band 80%.
When there is no Satellite tuned in the signal shows 65% but with a red band.
Now a satellite I want and cannot receive any programmes, I get a signal 65% and quality 95% but both bands are red!
I cannot tune in any programmes. What is the problem, when I adjust the elev or azimut angle or the lnb skew the bands fall away, it seems to be fully tuned to the correct satellite.
            Thanks

              need more info

              1) is it ok on any or some of the satellites ?

              2) are you using usals or diseqc for positioning ?

              3) if using usals, are your coordinates setup correctly ?

              4) what satellite are you trying to view ?

              5) what transponder are you trying on that chosen satellite ?

              6) are you sure you can "see" this satellite from your location ?

              7) is the satellite being blocked by trees or brick walls or buildings ?

as you can see, you need to give more precise information in future if you expect answers

its no good telling a mechanics forum that your car isnt running very well, then asking what is wrong with it. the devil is in the detail

so dont just say "on a satellite I want" and leave us guessing, actually SAY the satellite position, like 7 west or 26 east etc

so make sure you answer ALL of the above bullet points, and then give any extra information at the end

Yes can pick up eutelsat astra1 astra2d, but I have it just for Thor 0.8?W.

                2) are you using usals or diseqc for positioning ?
No Diseqc just this one sat.

                3) if using usals, are your coordinates setup correctly ?
My position is 46.520278?N 14.150833?E Receiver setup with coordinates at the end.

                4) what satellite are you trying to view ?
                Thor 0.8?W

                5) what transponder are you trying on that chosen satellite ?
                All, see setup below

                6) are you sure you can "see" this satellite from your location ? Using Satellite AR on my smartphone I can see it above the tree line.

                7) is the satellite being blocked by trees or brick walls or buildings ?
My dish 2.1x1.8mt is mounted on a pole 5mt and is 1.5 mt above my garage to the bottom of the dish, a clear view as it is above the tree line about 50mts away.

Using a short cable to my 9000HD with a sat finder at the lnb I have tuned to maximum levels with azamuth and elevation.
Now to the receiver. Menu-Satellite Search-Manual Search.
Scrolling sideways till THOR 0.8w is the sat I want. THe infoemation is as follows:-
                Freq. 10747
                Symb Rate 25000
                Polorization H 18v.
Modulation (have tried all) DVB-S2 8PSK, DVB-S2 QPSK, DVB-S QPSK.
                Pilots OFF
                Fec. 3/4
                Search Option ALL

's' Shows 89% 'q' Shows 100% both Red Bars. Have noticed the 'Q' bar fluctuates slightly but is mostly 100%

Have also tried the Hotbird 13?E from this position, there were approx 1000 programmes, mostly scrambloedbut the ones that were not I could see or hear any tone either. But the bars were Blue and Green as normal then.

When I carry on and press search all, it doesnt pick a single programme.

My dish is 2040mm x 1840 offset. Using the Satellite Antenna Allignment programme for Thor 0.8?W using my position as above It gives ma a calculation of Offset Angle 25.58?, Satellite elevation angle 34.903?, Expected measured antenna 99.32? (whatever that means I do not know) It also informs me info about the Satellite as follows:-
                Thor 0.8?W; Azimuth:200.204? Elevation 34.507?

Have added a couple of pics, hope you can sieve something out of this.

                Thanks.
