Sky Italia, Genuine Subscription

I am looking at purchasing a 13 month Sky Italia subscription in order to view the EPL 3 pm Kick Offs.
What I need to know is will I have to buy a genuine Sky Italia Receiver, or can I use any decent satellite receiver like a Technomate,
Although the cards come pr-authorised, do they need to be paired to a genuine Sky Italia receiver,

if you look at the bottom of the freq on that page you'll see this disclaimer!!

"Language content: Italian with English/original soundtrack on most channels including entertainment and sports (not English Premiership football)"

To keep the card updated you will need an official box.

These prepaid cards still need updating every couple of months or so or they will die.

You can put the card in a Technomate box & it will read it ok but it won't update it.

The clever thing about the Technomate is that it stops the card number being displayed on screen during LIVE Premier League matches.

Thanks that's a great deal, so good infact I have just purchased that package along with the HD receiver, and with a 1m dish brought elsewhere it's a good allround deal,

Pressuming you are in the uk a Skydish zone 2 would have done mate hotbird 13 east is a strong sat. hope this helps.

Yes spoke to Simon on Friday who advised a new box and card will be with me next week from Italy, or I could have had a 9 Month subscription pretty much straight away.
I used to work in the satellite industry as a national lottery terminal engineer, so am now getting back into what I used to do as a hobbyist, including picking up a half decent sat meter with a satellite identification feature, I opted for a Maxpeak SAM-Lite which arfter reading some web pages appears where liquidated by Horizon as the Engineer who was working for Horizon, had basically copied the guts and features of the world renowned Horizon into a sleek new handheld device.not a bad pedigree I say having had the Horizon originally.
My Dish also arrived today 1m motorised, I opted for this as I want to take my viewing as far as I can on the best budget possible,
I really appreciate all the time and effort people put into this wonderful forum and look forward to helping anyone with my own level of expertise,
