I have a dreambox downstairs and use the internet to get certain things on that dreambox. That is connected via a wire to my modem and via a wire to my satellite dish.

is it possible to get a dreambox in my room and do the same? Or do I need some kind of network adapater and some wire to the dish? confusing!

depends on several things

the type of dreambox you have now, if your lnb has more than one output, and if you wish to use the internet feed at the same time on both

if you have a HD dreambox you could use dreamstream to stream to a laptop, thats one option

you could piggy back a second box from the lnb output of the first box and use the same internet info, providing you have the first box on standby

or you can have separate boxes with separate feeds from the dish, and each with their own internet feed

I would also hazard a guess that your dreambox is connected to a router here, not a modem , so if it is a router then each dreambox or sat box needs its own ethernet connection to that router
