    2nd box and setup advice

    Hi

I have a vu duo as my main box and is a great box with no real issues.

Now i am looking at getting a second box for the bedroom, that i can then use the signal via rf out for example to other rooms in the house.

What would you recommend using, dont want to spend a fortune sub ?150 but would prefer something that is easy to maintain and if possible through the likes of the magic eye or similar change channels in other rooms.

Would it be best to get a box which has rf out or to get one that doesnt and get an rf out converter?

Any help would be appreciated, i am sure i am not the only one looking to do this. Or maybe you have done it yourself can you give me some pointers

    Thanks
    K

Yeah but unfortunately its to 4 rooms, and also if its seperate boxes it means more broadband connections etc etc. the rooms already have coax to them for distribution so seems like the easiest option

      thanks

Yes but that's 5 boxes total bedroom plus the 4 rooms i wanted to distribute the signal too costing ?50 each plus 6 home plugs or 5 wifi adapters plus 5 lines.

Thought it would be better to use one box and just send the signal through rf and maybe use a magic eye or similar

          Thanks

Yeah as seamouse says you would only be able to watch one programme at anyone time through the rf. You need a quad lnb or octo lnb for more outputs to each reciever. You could have loop through signal but could only have one box on at a time, so as not to overpower the lnb.

Hi all thanks for the many replies.

I understand I will only be able to watch the same channel in all the rooms, this is not an issue. I have very slow broadband connection and unfortunately cant get any faster due to the distance I am from the exchange this also limits the amount of connections I could have to run without glitching so separate boxes wouldn't work due to this, so I am trying to get something working that at the least I can watch whatever channel is being watched but in the other rooms.

I would like to change the channel from the other rooms, only one person would be in control of changing th channel but would save going to the box everything I wanted to switch channel.

                  Thanks

you mentioned an rf output, what about an old vcr? if thinking of a second box i use a vu solo original and that can access recordings on the duo for looking at elsewhere, now if you got a solo and used the scart to vcr and Proception 4 Way TV Amplifier with Bypass maybe others could comment.

Is the tm5402 a good box? Any ideas on a system for allowing me to switch the channels from another room

                          Thanks
