    New dish advice?

I am currently running a Dm500s using a sky minidish. But im looking to upgrade it as im setting a Dm800HD in another room. As i have a very early minidish (1999), i have been told that the LNB cant be changed.

Also, with a bigger/better dish i assume i should get a better signal and less interuption during bad weather.

The minidish is 40cm so looking to get a 60/65cm dish. As this is 50% larger, i presume it will be much better?

Also, the general opinions are that solid is beter than mesh so will be getting a solid.

I will also be adding a quad LNB to future proof it.

So the question is, what dish and lnb would you reccomend? I have a budget of around ?70 for the pair.

Is this any good? Triax TD64 64cm Solid Satellite Dish Freesat Sky Free To Air | eBay

I run near Hull a triax 64cm just for 28.2E with a quad lnb serving 4 rooms and its no trouble at all no rain fade etc: and should suit no problem.as to LNB I"v got a cheap lemon on it but its fine as 28.2E is really strong on all TPs in the UK.(just get the skew right)

The dish is just too big to where i want to mount it. Fantastic offer though.

Now that ive decided to go with the Triax TD64 dish, i need to choose a quad lnb. I only require two feeds but im getting a quad to future proof.

The obvious lnb is getting a triax one like here, Triax Universal Quad LNB with 40mm Neck | eBay

Or shall i get one that is claimed to be better signal strenth and quality? TECHNOMATE TM-4 HIGH-GAIN GOLD 0.1dB QUAD LNB | eBay

either of those will be fine and doubt you would find any difference.seal the unused outlets with self amalalg tape(or some other method)

Sorry to bring this back up but ive just noticed that you can get a Sky zone2 dish which is 60cm.

Question is, it the zone 2 dish much better than a standard 40cm dish and a triax td64?

                          Thanks

a 59cm zone 2 sly dish is better than a 39cm zone 1 because it is bigger (obviously)

the triax is better than both of them, but chances are you will be ok with a zone 2 as long as its for using as a fixed dish and nor motorised. so if you ever plan to go motorised stick with a triax, the bigger the better

                              Cheers mate.

I think ill go for the zone 2 as i can get it with a quad lnb for about half the price of the triax.

And as i will only be using it to pickup 28.2e, i should be ok.
