    Motorised Satellite Help

Ive had my dish up ages now but have never managed to get it working perfectly, I've spent many hours up the ladder

    I've got channels on 0.8, 13e, 16e, 19e,28.2e but can't get 4.8e and 9e

Any ideas how my dish needs to be altered to find these? Don't want to lose 16e as it took mt ages to get that aligned

    Thanks in advance

if the dish is set correctly on 1w and you
use the usuals motor settings the dish will
find all sats that your dish size can get a signal from
i have added a dish set up guide with pictures that might help you

it could be it number of things! lat/long in stb out, lat on motor out, dish on motor spiggot slightly out, motor left/right slightly out, dish up/down slightly out, lnb skew slightly out, line of sight issue,,, you should get 9e and the european beam of sirius but the nordic is dependent on the dish size. you need to eliminate each possible problem point through trial and error.

      check list.

      1. pole plumb
      2. dish on motor spiggot
      3. motor lat
      4. stb lat/long
      5. lnb skew
      6. no line of sight issues

if all these are correct then its a case of very small ajustments on the motor left/right and on the dish up/down untill it tracks correct and brings them in. try sending the dish to hispasat@30w to see if it picks it up. make very small ajustments as mm on earth equates to miles at 36000km in space. this is when having a professional field meter/spectrum analyser is invaluable, take it from me m8 i know as ive been there ffing and jeffing on the ladder in all weathers , regards mdt

Hi. Also check that you have up to date TP (frequencies) for all satellites that you are trying to pick up. How many channels are you actually picking up??? I suspect that your problem is to do with dish angles as the elevation appears to be ok as you are getting 0.8/1 west and 28.2 east. Do not move the motor tail up or down, just adjust the way that the dish sits on the motor tail. To get the perfect arc you need to find elevation(height) and dish angles for your location. Take it from me its not that difficult you just need a lot of patience.
        Good luck
