are you sure there is nowhere on your property that the installer cannot get line of site to astra2? you shouldnt lose the signal in anything but biblical rain storms and the wind should only cause problems if its moving the tree,s into the line of site. cant the dish go on the opposite side of the property and look over the roof? its highly unlikely that there isnt 1 position on your property that you can get a clear line of site to astra2(presuming its astra2 you are trying to get) regards mdtDM800HDSE SIM 2.10. If I were you I would give up once the tree is on your way there is nothing you can do, mind you may able to get good signal in winter when the tree has no lives on bare bones??.
You could go on sky in winter and cable in summer how that sounds.

Hi. Have you tried to fix the dish at low level and on either side of the trunk?? There is no way you cannot get a signal from a different part of your property, Sat signals can be received from any height and angles. If the tree is on your property you can try what gracieboo said about putting the dish on the tree. You will be able to make trunk calls as well...... Take careComment

My GF has a similar problem, I am forever up the roof tweaking it, but I think it is the 30 foot communal conifers in the no mans land.
I have asked her to put a letter into all the houses nearby, saying I will cut the tops of 6..ish trees, but she hasn't yet.
that is my..our, intention.Comment

thanks for your replies i ha ve tried all positions on my house but it the summer months my signal is doomed i wish cutting it don was an option but its overhanging my neigbours garden and its agood 70 -80 ft tall no one will touch it as its deemed too much of a riskComment
a little bit Expensive just to watch Sat TV would be better of getting a Decent HI-FI and Listen to Music or go Virgin cable
