Amiko Alien 2 v blade 7000

Not used the amiko alien, but after using the blade and seeing its price tag... It definately not worth ?150 in todays market. Meither is the technomate.

Blade is very overated in my view, much better off with a linux e2 receiver than blade, much more you can get for ?150

The alien 2 will be a good value twin tuner box when all or most of the bugs is sorted in the enigma2 side of things

Hopefully the next 6 months will see some good images coming for it

It also shows you a twintuner box can be made for this price unlike all the over priced boxs there is at the moment

The blade is also a good box and makes life simple when setting up ect but thats it

The blade does not get a look in to say a vu solo clone costing around a ?100 quid

The blade should be priced more around the ?100 pound mark as its only a hd single tuner closed source box

If the Enigma 2 bugs can be resolved it would be a great option.
The Golden Media Triplex (same hardware as Alien 2) @160 euro is just over half the price of a genuine Vu Duo .
I'm tempted to get one but I will hold off until I see some progress in the Enigma 2 code though.

TBH I have a triple tuner Amiko Alien2 and I am using the spark side of things and I have to say that it is very very stable, I have read that the E2 side of this box is much better and while the E2 side does have a 7 day epg etc, I just use the spark side as in my opinion the E2 side is the more unstable.

Is the 7 day guide Cross EPG ? I had read that it wasnt working properly on the Alien 2 ,would be great if it was .

Get yourself a clone 800se or a gigablue 800ue the later works superbly well with the Vix image on and in the same price range. Had an alien, sold it far too buggy for my liking better with a true enigma 2 receiver.

you know what your quite right, i got recommended the blade and i have done the same in the past to people because it is a decent box but i think it's over priced.

I was a noob when I got it now i have picked up alot of info from the dk community had i known the same things i do now i probably wouldn't have got a blade.

No the EPG is rubbish at best on spark but the TV wall is cool and in my opinion the Spark side for now is better than the E2 side.
