That all depends on what box ie: the 800 its in /etc
but as your per instruction the op must have a box were its in var/etc

The etc in var is a actually a shortcut that points to /etc
well it is in BH unless its image dependent

                    /var/etc = Enigma1

                    /etc = Enigma2

OP never specified which box he has

seems a very moot point and very pedantic to me

in my 800 edg image it can be easily accessed using var and etc in flash fxp and I believe the same applies to BH too

the file is in etc and there are various paths to get there and on my old tm9100 it was and still is var/etc and so is a habit I have got into

so more like brownie point scoring my "pinkie vip" in my humble opinion and makes members feel maybe they should not be passing on info in case a few i`s are not dotted or a few t`s not crossed, especially as no box was mentioned and it was posted in the wrong place

just because you are used to accessing etc using the shortcut in var does not mean that is were the file actually resides
why bother goin into var/etc which would take two clicks (if you had not set the remote path in fxp to point there) when you can just go into /etc using one click
I was not brownie point scoring as you put it, you said I was only stating were the file actually lives that's all on a 800
in other words giving the correct info,
so there is no need to insult my status as that has nothing to do with the discussion but I am sorry if I have upset you.

its still extremely pedantic and irrelevant to the problem that the OP had

my answer covered BOTH types of enigma , according to what digicon said

and the missing cccam cfg file is what appeared to be holding the OP back

the "correct info" was incorrect if he had owned a 500 and not an 800, my "incorrect" method covers both

accessing the VAR section shows the folders you can change (the VARiables), leading to clarity and not confusion

so far from helping, you were most definitely "scoring points" and now trying to justify your petty argument into one click or two clicks, as it transpires it works using my method on both boxes and nothing to do with any images

I also suffer from time to time with mild dyslexia too, so may spell "engima" wrong on occasion, should I be worried about that too ?

stop "trolling" posts and try to at least allow others to have a point of view that helps an OP achieve what he requires, like I tried to do

If you re read my post 7 I said if it was a 800 its in etc then i also said
but as YOUR per instruction the op must have a box were its in var/etc

then all i did was reply to your post explaining that the etc you are clicking in var/ect is a shortcut to etc in etc thats all

you then preceded to accuse me of being extremely pedantic and trying to score points

I then gave a further explanation and even apologised if i had upset you

I am not trying to justify anything, as I have said i was just explaining the file structure

Now you come back and accuse me again of trying to score points, not being helpful and trying to justify a petty argument and troll posting

again i even apologised if i upset you
I have not once accused you of anything or thrown any insult your way so can you please show me the same respect and stop accusing me of something i have not done and stop throwing insults at me.

I did not ask for those explanations and did not require them either, and still dont

in future , stay out of my posts and answer the OP like you had done until I posted, which was what I had done.

you started this by quoting MY POST (number #5)

show some respect for others if you require the same courtesies
