Starview HD combo + on sat cant connect.

    Hi all,

Have had above gathering dust for ages but have now hooked up to my sly sat & connected to Internet with the carling+_F531_1207(1).UAD installed. I have bought a c line for a short term trial but when I input it in server setup, the status is showing as disconnected and all channels are scrambled. I have read that sometimes this box won't work if the MAC address disappears, mines still there & corresponds with the one inside the box.

    1) Am I doing something wrong or does this box no longer work in this way?

    2) Is there any other software I should install?

3)Is installing spider 'bored one day' software the only way to connect?

    Any help would be excellent.

    Cheers

      it "should" work that way

but as mentioned above, you are better to turn it into a spiderbox and put the march 2012 spiderbox 7000 patch on, then try your c line

yes the mac code on the box has to match the mac code inside it on the label, and your sv needs a valid lan ip address too

Ideal, thanks for the replys, just ordered a null cable & will attempt to up grade to the spider stuff that way, I've read I can't just put it on a USB stick as I would to load other stuff.

        Unless anyone knows differently?

        Cheers bjorn

not usb until you use the null modem cable to reflash it with the spider software from "I was bored one day"

once its reflashed and boots as a spiderbox, check the mac code is correct, and correct it if not, if ok or when it matches , factory reset, and use usb stick to place march 2012 9000 bin file on the box, factory reset once more and check date is mar 29 in system info

then you are good to go , with spiderbox channels lists and softcam, turn on networking with 1111 and add and test your c line

Didn't need the software update as working fine on carling software, the fault was me being a goon and putting all the c line in the 1st box & should have been split between boxes everytime there was a space, all up & running, a little bit of freezing but not too bad, just got to put the channels into a useable order & I'm all set for xmas. Excellent!

Glad you got it up and running, the freezing you will more than likely be getting alot more of it.

My SV HD Combo is on the "I was bored one day spiderbox firmware and I still get constant glitching and freezing on a regular basis. Think it's just a side effect of CS

I tried putting the latest patch that ramjet mentioned onto my box but when done It disabled a couple of function's in the options menu's that I needed, and this is after a complete reflash to factory settings.
