Alternative to V+Duo and Extrend ???

Guys got through my email this morning...

MaxDigital XP1000 Single Tuner DVB-S2 HD Enigma2 Linux Satellite Receiver

Seems like an alternative to the V+'s and Extrend's

Uses the Broadcom BCM7358 chipset which is used in the Xtrend ET4000 so not a bad spec really for the price will certainly be faster than a solo and duo just a shame about the single tuner, But if thats all you need then this is a very good buy indeed

open sourced boxes are better supported than the blade as that is closed sourced.

hopper28 the Blade7000 is a cracking little box and is updated every now and then and I have 1 myself but like catikid said you are limited as to what you can do with it as it is a closed source box.

I'd just like a bit of freedom on my box image wise etc... so that's why I mentioned the maxdigital, it's a bit cheaper than the V+ Uno and lot more than the V+Duo and Extrends

I would be getting 1 to replace my SV HD Combo on my Multisat cs but like I said it will be after Xmas if I decide to

It seems that this box does not have a LED/LCD display panel on the front, so no channel indicator or clock etc...

                Big let down that.

having a front screen with clock and channel info puts price up much more, people are looking for budget boxes, ohh and the vu+solo has no clock or channel info on front only red.green light.

Also look at it another way less distraction when watching something instead of keeping one eye on the display.

Yeah maybe, but even the cheapest box has a front panel LED/LCD display so you would think that for ?150 they could have least put one on the box.

Anyway I'm gonna save up and go for one the higher price box's instead.
