    Say tv newbie

Hello I'm looking to get rid of sky tv and get a sat box like dreambox. my question is what box would I need to get the most channels possible and is it possible to get channels from America and other countries? As just uk channels is not really enough.

I welcome any helpful replies thanks.

any HD box will get you the most number of channels from any satellite, as you will then get SD and HD channels

to maximise your choice of satellites you need a motorised system that allows you to get from 42 east to 30 west, passing due south

no usa satellites are visible from the uk, although 15 west may have some stuff you may be interested in

in any case the motorised system allows you to get european channels, and some middle eastern too

the trick is decoding the channels, not just receiving them, and that is down to c or n lines which we dont talk about on here

in my opinion, your last answer didnt include having read this thread

this is the satellite section m8

a pre-requisite of the satellite section is having a satellite dish !!

yes it is confusing, hence my long reply in that thread I linked to

nobody is legally allowed to preset a box with all the bells and whistles, its a D I Y job which is why this section exists

a device with xbmc and navi-x fits that description, such as an apple tv/ android tv/ boxee, etc

I think you are talking about IPTV or hbbTV

streaming over the net to a box in your living room

probably similar to streaming video over the net to your pc

the problem here is post 1 states sky tv and a dreambox, both of which are satellite

if you arent going to use a dish you are in the wrong section then

a dreambox can have 1 or more tuners in it , satellite , cable and terrestrial (freeview) , which needs a dish or cable feed or an aerial

you appear to need something like myself or shady said which is streaming over the net and so is not satellite and not really dreambox either
