I was looking into getting a vu+ solo more then ?150 I know.. no where seems to be stocking them anymore

What is the best alternative ?200 is my max budget

Vu ceased production of the solo a couple of months ago in order to reduce stock levels but keep a reasonable price / demand on them until the release of the solo2.

as pointed out the maxdigital is currently a great box for the price even if its not the best looking, but then again your going to be looking at the tv not the receiver.

if you mean the maxdigital then yes it can do the same as any other E2 receiver.

if its an original which it states it is good price although misleading really.. ?125 exc p+p thats ?25 more than a clone and a ?50 saving on uk prices(for suppliers that still have them in stock). of course you have to pay ?25ish p+p and also be carefull when buying from the U.S. as R.M. will hold the package and pay your v.a.t for you and charge you ?8 . so you can add ?33 on top of the ?150 for the box and p+p so you end up paying ?183 so in reality you end up paying more,regards mdt

the maxdigital boots just as fast as the solo and it runs the exact same cpu as the new xtrend 4000. also for the record boot times are massively dependent on the image and plugins used.

Well i timed the boot sequence from a cold start which is switch off from the back to around 1:18 thats about the same if not quicker than a solo from the same boot, consider that towards the Gigablue 800se at around 2 minutes then its near lightning fast LOL.

And lets not forget how many people switch off completely most i would imagine place in standby.

with the vu+ is it easy to record? and can u time record? with usb stick?

always found it a little tricky on the dm800hd so never bothered.
