Always better to use Decent quality cable and no joins really to minimise the signal loss, Boosters can be found just be warned they also boost the crap thats in the signal as well.

    Code:

sounds more like a fault on the cable to me as moving a room about and adding a bit of cable should not cause this

it could be interference from adjacent cables, or a nearby dect phone or nearby router or some other source of interference instead

alternatively, it could be some of the outer braid touching the inner core causing a short circuit, or cable damage or a kink in the cable

given the high signal on the SD channel I dont think a booster will help, but tracking down the fault will

I would start by connecting it back up where it comes in from outside and checking the levels, and then try to trace the fault or interference
