    Weird installation problem

    Hi there.

I am experiencing a weired problem.

I have installed a 1.1m dish with dark motor on a pole at the back of a building in Stockport with a Technomate gold LNB (twin), but only using one output.
This runs to an Openbox S9.

All satellites are working great from 1 west to 28 east.
All channels great aswell, signal very good...quite happy,

However, the only channel i have a problem with is SETANTA on 28 East.

It was quite lowish but still reaching 70% BUT it keeps jumping up & down from 20 - 70 % & this is making it unwatchable as the channel is stuttering all the time, on my handheld device by the dish, the signal is great & stable.

I then put an SAC in line booster & GREAT...Setanta was on
& very stable with no jumping up or down,,,steady on about 75%.

HOWEVER....this in line booster is stopping the motor from working now.
The dish just won't move anywhere but as soon as i take off the bosster, the motor is fine again but i am then stuck with the Setanta problem again.

I am just wondering if anyone here has had similar problems like this, maybe not on Setanta, but other channels.

Everything else on 28 east is fine,,,just Setanta a problem &
all other sats are great too.

Any help or suggestions would be gratefully received.

    regards

Its also on the weakest of the birds as well Eutelsat 28A which by rights should have been replaced with 28B which is there but not doing anything, also as Manic states DECT phone, Baby Monitor or something similar near the receiver.

Also the in-line boosters only work direct to LNB connection, so you could try that on a short fly lead after the LNB motor connecion

          Thanks for the advice.

It's not the dish out of line even only slightly as everything else is good.

I will try Digicon's suggestion to use the in line amp from lnb to motor rather than receiver to motor.
          Worth a try anyway.

There is a mini dish nearby i can run a 2nd cable from & maybe use the DisEqc port for 28 east only in the box settings, & leave the rest on 1.2 motor setting.

I can also use one of those A/B switching devices where you just press the button on for each incoming feed.

          So i do have options.

I was just baffled by the in line amp thing.
I have never used one before although i was aware there might be a problem as it says on it...To LNB ----- To Receiver.
          No mention of motor.

          Thanks.

            Thanks.
are you sure the dish is not slightly out as that TP should be ok but may need better alignment, the others could still be ok even with the dish not quite right I"d realign on that specific channel 1st and see what you get.

Yes , very sure the dish is not out as on my handheld tv i use to watch tv & see the signal levels is high and stable on 75% for that Setanta frequency & no jumping up or down, it's deffo either a problem with interference on or around that frequency or a problem down the cable to the box.

I could try another box but the in line booster works fine, but i just need to put it from LNB to Motor to test & hopefully the motor will still move.

Booster has to be at motor end, also check voltage settings in the setup menu

yes, i am going to try the booster on the cable from lnb to motor, rather than motor to receiver cable (which stopped the motor working but increased the signal very well).

Forgot to mention big thanks to DIGICON on this. I went back last weekend & to sort it out & by putting the booster from lnb to motor did the trick.
Dish moves well & signal now great on Setanta & PLTV which was not quite stable but is now.

Thanks for the suggestion as i have never used these in line boosters before but they work a treat. About ?3 from local place in T Park, can't go wrong.

Possibly because there is a break in the cable so may have caused slight signal loss but the in line amp appears to have compensated for that now.

I cant believe its a signal problem, even if out off alignment its a 1.1 meter dish.
