    Motorised Satellite System Requirements?

    Guys,

I currently have a receiver that can be used with a motor but is currently on a fixed system.

Its about time I changed over to motorised to take advantage of the channel/satellite selection and I am not really clued up with what I need.
From what I read the following are the best in terms of dish and LnB -

    Gibertini 1M Dish
inverto black ultra lnb or Octagon Optima LNB

Not sure what Motor to get?

What else do I need, where is the best place to buy and what's the price range I should be aiming for?

    Mnay Thanks

I had a satellite installer over today who briefly had a look at my property for where to install the dish.
He said a 1.1m dish might be the best option as there are some tall trees just in front of my back garden.

However he does not know of the make Gibertini or any of the quality branded items.

Do you guys think I should go for a 1.1m Dish or get a 1M Gibertini dish?

Who is the best place to order from so I can have all the kit by Wednesday?

He doesnt sound like a satellite installer, or rather, he sounds like a Sky Dish installer who wont have the skills for installing a motorised system....

Why do you really think you need a 1m dish? What satellites are you wanting to get? A decent 80cm or 90cm dish would easilly get you all of the interesting satellites serving europe...

I would like Hispasat, Thor, Eurobird, Sirius, Astra, Hotbird and Arabsat. Would that be all possible with a smaller dish?

Your Arabsat requirement means you'll need at least a 1m dish, preferably at least a 1.2m for it be reasonable. An 80cm or 90cm would see you alright with the others.

not much of a installer if he hasnt heard of gibertini as they make the best quality dishes for normal money and only andrew are better due to there expertise in the broadcast side. personally id choose a stab100,gibby 104cm ali dish, inverto black ultra on a good solid set of galvanised t+k,s with a length of scaffold pole. dark motors/tm2600,s are fine but the bracketry starts to rust pretty soon whereas the stab has galvanised bolts, nuts ect and should last you years if looked after and not abused. as for those saying 80/90cm there ok but a good quality 1m dish will be better and give you good weather margin on some of the weaker turnaround/feed birds(eutelsat@10east as a example). regards mdt

Dakmotor preferable over the TM2600 which has slightly narrower ARC sweep compared to both the DM and the STAB
