Not allowed a dish up in flat but need sky

Hey guys I'm getting my own flat soon but unfortunently I'm not allowed to put a dish up outside, know this sounds stupid but would a dish work indoors looking through a window and pick up a signal for Astra 28.2e? I need some wa of getting around this, I not long ago purchased a hd sat box so I could do with an idea on how to do this, subbing to virmen media is not an option!
    Thx!

yes it will but nowhere near as good through glass, although there were some special types of dishes for putting on window glass instead of the traditional dish setup

most flats have a communal system with satellite to every flat so you should look into that option

but with no dish and no cable, you wont get anything - fact of life

so as you probably know, to get sky you need a dish pointed at 28.2 east, and the chances of your window being the correct orientation (pointing towards 28.2e) are near zero

you could always find out if a neighbour has a dish, if so you could ask very very nicely if you could run a cable of it and pay for a quad (or bigger if needed) lnb
Also might be worth looking to see if you could hide a dish so it can not be seen......

If the Flat is new property or even a good few years old it should have a communal system comprising of the following Aerial + FM/DAB + Satellite, even some council property that never had communal systems have upgraded older property's obviously dependant on your local authority.

Being a little vague here but isn't there a european law that states everyone has the right to satellite television even TV that is not UK based or something along those lines

You can get sky installed at a relatives house and then use a slingbox to send the picture to your flat over the internet. That will allow you to get sky without a dish at your property...

I Think you need to read this no one can stop you having a satellite dish installed if you wanted to take it as far as you could legally.

Apparently somebody from across the street complained about it and the original satellite dish had to be removed and no more dishes can get installed.... I might just look into a rectanguler dish which can be disguised with a wall maybe that might work!

theres a company from leeds that sells a suction pad that sticks to the window and you can mount a dish on it , as long as you can get line of sight to the satellite

nice read, but there are places i did cable tv installs where all people in the flats were told no dishes allowed

my friend has this problem ,the top flat does not want sky and will not let installers in to fit coax in, this will feed flats below .
he does not want to pay tv liecence . so the ones below suffer, they put up dish
