    Total satellite noob here...

    Hi folks,

Ok so i want to watch my english football team (southampton) play and i normaly watch them by streams but i get abit pi**ed off with the cr@ppy quality and the buffering (even though im on 20meg BB) so im looking into getting a sat system and have a few questions

    1) - What system would i need (Receiver,dish) ?
    2) - Would i need to pay a subscription to watch the games ?
    3) - Is it worth getting a sat system or should i just stick with steams ?

    Thanks for help

You will struggle to get Southampton games via satellite unless they are playing a big name club, or if Sly TV are showing it. So at this time you would be wasting your cash on it. If you want to watch every game Southampton play in the EPL you need to use ADMC or Fox Soccer via the internet.

Every PL matches are shown on satellites including Southampton. It may not be on Sky UK, but will be on other European satellites. If you can get a motorized dish and subscribes to Euro channels, you will be able to get them. Look here for all PL matches shown on Satellites

Wrong mate ... Not every EPL match is shown on a European satellite.
Stoke Vs Southampton was only being shown on a far Eastern broadcaster called ADMC broadcasting on 7 West, and I think 26 East. A very big dish would be needed to get this in the UK, I think a 2.4mtr would do it, but who has one of those ?

As mentioned above to watch Southampton your best bet is getting an online sub to ADMC or get one of the IPTV boxes which has the same content more or less.

Actually going this route will be cheaper than setting up a sat system from scratch these days.

Satellite cannot guarantee every game now due to Premier League restrictions unless you live in the middle east ofcourse.

Just want to point out that the Satellite EPL viewing restrictions are only applied to saturday 3pm Games which i admit are the lion's share of the games each season, but these broadcasting restrictions do not apply to any other day of the week which again are few and far between take for instance boxing day games at 3pm every match was available on Sat which will be the same on new years day, The only other time has been a couple of sunday kick offs due to international duty.

Just something to bear in mind for the future just in case the EPL have there say and try and shift some of the Sat 3pm's to another day, time etc...

Its ok folks i watched stoke on stream (had 11 different streams to choose from) and got a nice quality one that was english and 4000 bitrate and had no buffer problems, every southampton game is streamed but some games quality is prety poor but id say 8 times out of 10 the quality is excellent....So ill just stick with streams.

                    Thanks
