1. hd quality
2. usb adapter for access hd driver in front "internal"
3. support wifi usb adapter
4. support only 2 web application ie "you tube" and "you p*rn"
5. easy setup update camds by usb
6. pvr facilities
7. only a few updated .abs(images)
8. no access to pc for live streaming by web interface-enigma

• dreambox 500s about 70?

1. too much update application i.e. calendar,games, images etc
2. web interface -enigma-distance watching
3. need ftp program for installation -setting images
4. sd quality
5. lan interface only
6. no usb support
7. no pvr

personally I would go for the openbox because of the better picture quality. One drawback though is the epg is crap. Dm500 with commando 14.6 image has 7 day epg plus you can set your location. It depends on what your priorities are from the box you want to buy

both cheap c**p in my opinion

vu+solo clone for about ?100 or a dm800hdse for ?130... the only saving grace for the openbox is price and it has a excellent hd pq.
the dm500s has sold millions in its clone form and if your ok with a sd picture it can still do a sterling job for ?40. as stated its all down to what you want personally from a reciever and what your budget is and only you know this,regards mdt
