Hi daz,a yes from me.its worth a buy definately m8.For ?150 you can have a twin tuner usb based pvr running either spark or e2 firmware with growing support cant be be bad.Ive had mine now for a couple of months running the spark firmware and quite happy with it.

Theres now a 7 day epg on spark side thru cross epg ect , but i prefer the e2 side of it as ive Autobouquets crossepg and cool tv and running on mine

how responsive is it? any lag from the remote? i find the enigma receivers were usually much more responsive than closed source receivers like openbox s9.

I have an alien2 and a blade 70000s personally speaking i think the blade is far better easier to set up.

Any chance of a link for the 7 day epg on the spark side, Ive been trying for months to get crossepg working on the spark side and no luck.

Responsiveness - not seen any issues on the e2 side. spark may someday be the better boot choice but right now doesn't work right, e.g. EPG and web interface causing reboots. e2 doesn't have as many plugins yet due to different processor family than most but has the fundamentals, it is very reliable and its cheap as chips.

I think I'm going to buy one and give it a try. If its pants it can always go on fleabay !!! No doubt I'll be asking a million questions about setting it up when I get it. Thanks for all the replies.

Yeah got the latest update, and its there as a plugin but no joy.
Have you actually got it working? If so must be me and i'll give it another go.

Consider the MaxDigital XP1000

For me it came down to whether I needed or wanted the twin tuner (answer 'No') The XP1000 is only single tuner but it's E2 MIPS so better support. I'm very happy with it running ViX 3, but haven't used an Alien to compare. Worth a look.
