hey, I just got a second hand sky+ box, and the hhd wot work, it says hhd fault, also is it is supposed to have a sky free view card but it wont accept it, what should I do, I cant take it back either

sorry, thanks you, got the hhd drive working but it wont let me recored still its says make sure ive have sky plus subscription, plus I get normal channels but the free view channels says incorrect card, but its a free view card, ive done a full reset plus tried to update my firmware, wont cant I record or watch freeview channels, its a white Amstrad sky plus box cheers pplComment

you have to pay sly for the sly plus recording function to work , which used to be ?10 per month OR you subscribe to the basic package, and the card is enabled to allow this
the card isnt required for freesat channels (you wont get freeview from a satellite box - only from your aerial and a freeview tv or tuner), you can check the freesat channel names on their website, but its the usual ones like bbc and itv for starters
c5HD and sony tv and sony tv+1 are opened by the white card IF the entitlements are up to date, if they arent it will need to be left in the box until those expiry dates on the card renew and you can check that with those 3 channels above , if they work then its up to dateComment
