    Hi nunoamorim, I'm getting to the stage where I want to "add a test line" to my alien 2, can you tell me where to put it or point me to a tut. I've looked around but can't find a tut re this subject. Thanks

        Menu-plugin-config-add think its the green button,add your details confirm red button restart oscam, exit, now delete your first yellow folder now exit out.

            You need to use OSCam_ymod

            OSCam_ymod is a special version of OSCam developed by yuriks.

            OSCam_ymod is the emu version of OSCam
            i.e. it can read softcam.key ( It should be renamed as oscam.keys)

            It can handle Clines without problems.

            OSCam_ymod = CCCam + good Emu support

              Ok....

              heres what brought my box back to life

              It was stuck on boot after trying to install Enigma 2 and not reading the bit where it said to plug the USB stick on the back port..........I know.....

              Connect the receiver to your PC with Null-Modem RS232 cable

              Open a Terminal application, I used PuTTY)

              Select your COM port, set the baud rate to 115200 and open the connection

              Turn the receiver ON

              When you see the prompt, copy these commands one by one and press ENTER:
              __________________________________________________ __________________________________________________ __________
              set bootargs console=ttyAS0,115200 rw ramdisk_size=6144 init=/linuxrc root=/dev/ram0 nwhwconf=device:eth0,hwaddr:0037:04:15:00
              __________________________________________________ __________________________________________________ __________
              ip=192.168.40.83:192.168.40.19:192.168.40.1:255.25 5.0.0:lh:eth0ff
              __________________________________________________ ______
              stmmaceth=msglvl:0,phyaddr:1,watchdog:5000 bigphysarea=6000
              __________________________________________________ _______
              nboot.i 0x80000000 0 0x00100000 ;bootm 0x80000000
              _____________________________________________

              The receiver should boot ok now and you are able to Perform a Software update/Downgrade

              Upgrade the receiver to the "spark_1.2.51 Europe" which has the uboot files needed to restore it.

              When the receiver reboots, it will look like its stuck again in boot loop.

              Turn it off and start again from the top, which will make the receiver reinstall all the data needed to work.

              After that, upgrade to the latest one the normal way and then you can try to install Enigma2 again..

              Good Luck

                  I've found several versions of oscam_ymod but not sure which one will work on the Alien.... I'm happy to use either Spark or E2 tbh

                      Hi Mates!
                      I`m thinking of getting one of these (amiko alien 8900), but i got some doubts about this box, so i was wondering i f someone can help me.
                      My questions are:
                      1- are there any diferences between amiko alien 8900 and amiko alien 2, regarding to quality picture?
                      2- can this box (8900) realy read wav files (i want to hear high bitrate quality music, in my av amp, without the need of alwayas turn the PC on)?
                      3-Does this box support blind scan?

                      Thank`s in advance,
                      Best regards!

                        Friend of mine gave me his Alien 2 twin to flash with E2 image so I managed to get HDMU latest onto it BUT I need to be able to get Diseq 1.2 in the satellite setup and that image doesnt have it.
                        Any ideas of a suitable image with Diseq 1.2 but must be E2 tho
                        Thanks
