faulty box? starview hd combo spiderbox

    hi
i have a starview hd combo that ive just changed to a spiderbox using i was bored oneday firmware.
all works ok till i watch a hd channel.

any HD channel i switch it to makes the box constantly go off and on.

    works fine in standars definition.

any ideas as what to do to fix?

Have you tried a reflash of the firmware just incase the initial flash has corrupted it somewhere

thanks digicon , i thought about reflashing but aint had time yet.
as far as i know the box worked ok as a starview when watching hd channels so you could be right, ill give it a go asap and post back later.
        cheers

Right you use the I was bored one day firmware, but did you also install the 2 patches that came with it as well.

Think that ramjet suggested that you also install the spiderbox patch from March of last year, for me this patch does not work on mine it cause some options in the menu to stop working.

So I had to get the box back to factory default and start the whole process over again minus the spiderbox patch.

All I can suggest is that you restart the process again from scratch, actually the more I think about it, it reminds me of the openbox s9 when they first came out, certain channels would cause the box to reboot continually and they only way I got around this was to boot the box up without the sat feed connected then delete the channels that cause this, eventually they brought a firmware out to solve this, but as the SV HD Combo is no longer in production and not supported this will never happen to it.

There should be more than 1 of any channel when you scanned for the channels (there is for me) and now it's a matter of elimination to find which of the channels is causing this.

            hi again
well ive been messing all night,
yes i have installed the patches , i followed the instructions in i was bored one day.
any way, tonight i have factory reset tried again, still the same.
i`ve reflashed and tried hd channels before the patches and after and hd channels still the same.
i reinstalled it back to a starview and still the same.
all standard channels work as they should as a starview and a spiderbox, as soon as i try to view any HD channel on the box it keeps rebooting.

It's looking like a faulty tuner, as it's doing this before and after you flash.
