The only point of vpn is to encrypt/protect your data from being snooped by unauthorised parties including the ISP. You cannot hide the quantity of information being downloaded, only the content.

ok bin reading again i think i know how to setup the vpn on my router But would this service be ok or is there one better you know off lads.

one more thing,Could i still use my no ip address for my clients/mates/fam or defo need just a static ip ifso so then i would have to put the cline in there box as C: 192.XX.XX.XX instead of C: noip.oo.org.
And i think i may just use the vpn for my CS
            thanks

Closed, when reading our rules again please refer to the part about CS.

For a server you really need a service that offers you a dedicated static IP address in order to make it easy for your clients to find you.

Most vpn's that assign dynamic client ip's also share the ip with large numbers of clients so, for example, you might share an ip with several thousand others. This works very well where your only acting as a client (ie you initiate communications) but makes it near impossible when you have a server (ie your waiting for clients to connect) as the vpn has no idea where to route the incomming requests.

Generally, you should expect to pay ?1-?2 per month extra for a dedicated static ip. The allocated ip will become your new external ip address and will be what your clients will connect to. This arrangement may have all ports initially open and forwarded or it may require you to forward the ports you require via either a control panel or via a support call
