    Advice for a newb

    Hi I am new to all this so please bear with me.

    I only have a Amiko 8320 receiving signal from Astra 23.5. I already receive the basic Slovak/Czech channels as my partners sister sent us a CSlink card last year which still works.

    I would like to explore the possibilities of opening up some of the other channels on that satellite. If at all possibli with my system. I have looked into the sofware etc and can see a section for codes but then I get confused as all the keys I find anywhere are 32 digits and my system shows 8 or 16 key but when I change to 16 the amount of digits i can enter stays the same???

    I know I did say I was a newb so please stop laughing so loud

    But I will need some help here to say the least !! and once I can or if I can master it I will look at another a monoblock with two lnb's so I can pick up the 19 degree sat as well

      HI. To enter 32 character keys you need to split them into two lines of 16 as follows: If keys is 00 then enter

      Line 1: 00 xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx
      Line 2: 10 xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx

      If key is 01 then enter as follows:

      Line 1: 01 xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx
      Line 2: 11 xx xx xx xx xx xx xx xx

      Please remember for keys to work your receiver needs to be patched with latest firmware. Also you need to enter the keys under CRYPTOWORKS with correct provider ID for CS LINK. I am not familiar with your receiver so if you get stuck ask for help. Hope this makes sense.

          the only possibilities on there apart from cslink are anything else that opens with softcams or biss keys (same as on any satellite)

          these are the ones opened by softcams

          there is a biss key thread by mdt on this forum with all the biss key possibilities

          you wont open anything else using keys on any satellite however as it gets less and less every year as providers update their encryptions
