Start with psu power supply,They well dodgy ive gone through loads and cause most problems.
Another option is to try box on another dish and see if it works.

        I have several box's including a Dm800 Dm500 vplus duo and a Tm500 to test things

I seem to have intermittent results in moving the motor 'even with a small piece of cable attached to motor

I have 2 motors to test to an alsat superior dark and tm2600

Hi. To eliminate cable make sure on TM2600 there is a green light on. If no green light make sure there is power from receiver by using a sat meter in motor cable end. If green light on use USALS to move dish to a distant satellite like 30 west or 42 east . USALS should move the dish regardless of alignment. Check dish actually moves. If green light on but dish not moving then problem may lie with sensor, limits set in receiver or faulty receiver. You can try ,if possible, with a different receiver. If same results then assume motor problems.
            Regards
