    Information

Hi Everyone, I am just starting out with satellite after canceling my over priced SKY subscription, I am trying to learn about cams and system setting up, but as the majority of the information is taboo and no one talks on the forums, were do you get the information from? is the an satellite for dummies book or something anything to give you some pointers, I have a skybox f5 which was cheap enough, but am looking at getting a duel tuner box, what would be a reasonably priced option around he ?200-?250 mark, and I may get a motorised dish, that is if I ever learn anything.. my bocx seems to be running fine with me only putting the lines on, I have updated the tp-listings and firmware, but when i look at the Cccams things I have not got clue what they mean, I just followed instructions to enable the above.

You would be better reading through a lot of the stickies and guides in the dreambox section and the Vu+ sections anything you cant see just do a search of the forums and guides and little tips will turn up along the way, As you are aware most of the subjects are taboo so we cant go into any great length discussing them but the information on the forum will see you through no problem

Thanks Ramjet, excellent start for me, looks like its back to school for me than, I did dabble in it a good few years ago I had a DVB card back then and an 80cm dish I used to get hotbird, eurotel, and astra and had a programme running on my PC but cannot remember what it was called, the programme was linked via internet but then it only used the old style modems and could be a real pain at times. it all came to a sudden end one night when the dish blew off and landed on wifes car, nag nag nag.
