    Old dog needs new tricks...

Hi everyone hope you're all doing well . I've been out of the sat game for a few years now but I've suddenly got an itch and I'm looking for new box. Just to give you an idea my last box was the old Humax IRCI 5400 with all the trimmings. I've read quite a few threads and my mind is currently set on an open source box but I've read some good things about some of the closed ones as well.

Any futher info or recomendations would be greatly appreciated.

    Regards

All depends if you simply want to watch tv or have a play around with things.

Closed source for basic watching, open source for messing around with & added features to compliment your watching of tv experience.

Thanks for the quick reply. My thoughts exactly with regards to the linux boxes. I'm in IT so I like playing with things .

Don't really want to spend more than 200 quid on a box. I already have 2 dishes in place, a 1.2m motorised that's not been used for a few years and a 60cm fixed currently pointing at 30 west.

My DM800SE clone finally arrived and managed installed the "Nemesis2_6-DM800SE-SVN_190r0-sim2-ssl84b" image. After Cccam 2.3.0 has been running for 20-30 minutes it starts to freeze every couple of minutes and I'm trying to workout if it's image or internet related. After running some download tests I don't think it's internet related. Are there some other box/image tests I could try?

then first check the free to air channels
are they freezing or glitching?,if they are

the server giving the problem, you could also use the
nemesis extra panel and try using anouther cccam version
from it to see if the cam is the problem

Thanks for the replies. As benny/9 says, I reckon the problem is with the server. I will try another sealion and a different version of cccam and see what happens
