VU+ Solo Clone or DM800 HD se

What do you guys reckon ?
Dm800 se seems the better box, but Vix tempting me towards a VU.
    Opinions welcome.

Only my opinion mate but VU+ all the way. It has loads more readily available support and is the closest thing to Sly+ you can get.

Even though i have owned every VU+ machine available i have also owned DM800se and if i had a choice DM800se again without the blink of an eyelid.

There is not a machine to touch it for image support and plugins nothing, as for closest to a sly+ its enigma2 so can do everything every other E2 receiver on the market can do.

Plus the 800se runs a more up to date chipset and is faster than a solo nuff said

vu is the one guyz, i would choose the solo over the dm800hd se , its much cheaper, and the vix 3.0 image is probably the best image to use and it runs very good, think dreambox support is dropping

Not too sure where you get that information from lombard but the 800se is massively popular especially in Clone form, There are literally 100's of images available for the 800se compared to the Vu series even port overs of the Blackhole 1.7.9 image, Vu+ have a hell of a lot of catching up to do

I also own both, the DM800 SE is quicker and more responsive...but like others have said the solos runs the ViX image which for me makes all the difference..so I would say get the solo

So difficult . Thanks for the replies so far. I am quite swayed towards the solo because of ViX but want it to be slow like my dm800hd is. Had enough of the slowness on that which is why im looking to get something better.
Is the dm800se significantly quicker than the solo, or is the solo running Vix fine and without any unresponsiveness.

Thanks for the responses so far fellas

As for support, dream has most support but it seems to be moving towards VU. Support is very good on both, so i dont really think that is an issue at all.

the solo clones were not slow but the remote on the V1 was poor at responding although the V2 was better. there onto version 3 now. im far from a vix fan but i installed a solo clone in my ex-bosses house running VIX.2.3 with coolmans and picons for 28.2east and i found it excellent so credit were its due. ive never owned a dm800hdse but my m8 swears by them and they have an excellent rep/build quality now. its up to you m8,regards mdt

Its not even close ,Dm800se is far superior.
I dont get all the love for Vix,very overrated in my opinion.

Its pretty simple for me, the UI of ViX is streets ahead of the rest, there's no need for installing extra plugins like coolmans tv guide for example as the EPG built into ViX is as close to Sly as it gets, it also offers the quickEPG which again is much like the sly box and allows easy setting of auto timers to simulate the series link feature. Many more things jump to mind like for example it has the "OnDemand" plugin built in so easy to view bbc iplayer, 4od, itv player etc and it also has an "autoBouquets" feature which keeps the box up to date automatically with many different types of providers (eg sky uk, sky it etc).. All in all for me the most stress free, user friendly image out there.

I have all those plugins on the Dm800se but I see what you mean about it being built in,its easier to setup and maintain.

exactly my point, its already done for you with the important stuff, and the interface to look at epg is great, and they keep making new features and you dont need to really do much other then update image within software update , i do really think the dreambox is going down slowly. look at the price they charge, and look at the vu specs and price ??
