quad lnb problems

hi all I have a technomate in the front room and an alien 2 upstairs they both work on the downstairs feed but upstairs feed doesn't get a signal I am using an old virmin media cable that I have unhooked from the front of house and coiled up behind the dish . the feed to the downstairs is one installed with the dish and is great but upstairs exvirmin one no joy but was getting signal on an old virmin box before moving to dish . does anyone think I may have damged cable whilst moving it any input would be gratefully accepted cheers in advance Pete ps its on a skydish with quad lnb the type with a cover sliding down over the outputs on the lnb

best to use new cable as if the vm cable is old or damaged or has hidden extras that you dont see,using new cables from lnb it will be as good as other room.

if you have 4 satboxes single tuners they all have their own feed,a twin tuner would need 2 from lnb,wrong output would be like using a disegc switch which you are not.

If your using the loopthrough feature from one of the receivers to another using the Virmin cable it should work, if you have the white Virmin boxes on the interior walls then take these off with the 2 screws holding the front cover and take out the filter from the incoming cable feed both up and down and it should then work no problems

Can you clarify how you have connected this cable?

What route does the cable take between the LNB & upstairs box?
