Best Box for the ?70-?100 mark?

I'm returning my F5 due to the various problems I'm having with it, stuttering sound, no signal on most channels, flickering of screen on the menus and will be steering well clear of Skybox in the future.

As the title says, what would you recommend in that price range?

    Thanks

    Jimmy

Do you want an Original receiver ie: with 12 months warranty or would you consider a Clone from our friends PRC also have you considered do you want another closed source receiver or is it time perhaps for an enigma2 Linux version.

Close source wise you may be able to stretch to a secondhand Blade 7000, TM5302/5402 which are excellent and all give you full 7 day epg on 28.2? east

As for the Cloned enigma2 your probably looking at something like Cloud iBox or Openbox S6000HD or even a Clone Vu Solo all 3 are identical as they all run the same chipset.

If you stretched your budget top ened to around ?130 then you can get either of the 5302/5402 new or a New TM-Nano E2 machine which has the same internals as a VU Duo apart from only having 1 tuner

If you have a motorised dish then dont discount the Spiderbox 6000HD which also includes when patched correctly a Gift for other satellites this retails @ ?90

    Plenty of choices

I wouldn't mind an Enigma box, how much am I looking at for a clone? Not bothered about the double tuner - Only have 1 feed in my flat.

Would you be able to point me in the right direction please?

      Cheers

I would tend to go with what HH mentioned about a V3 Solo Clone out of the 3 this will stay the coolest due to the Cloud and S6000 having over heating issues

Any PRC supplier such as Alibaba, Espow, Brandast etc... just do a google search

I don't really fancy buying from China, had a very bad experience with a tablet which left me ?100 out of pocket.

The only enigma clone I can find is on eBay (in my price range) and it's a Amiko SHD-8900 for ?99... Is this a good box?

I prefer to stick to the Mispel based Enigma2 receivers as these get supported better ie: Vu, Dream, TM, Xtrend etc... I dont really care for the Amiko range with spark as the Enigma2 side is not shall we say as well refined as on a Mispel based box where as you can guarantee every plugin available for them will run

there are thousands of people using sat boxs from PRC without issue... get yourself a VU+ solo V3 for about ?95 delivered in 3 to 5 days, stick blackhole 1.72 on it, job done! if you can go to ?130 then the dm800hdse or tm nano. the amiko boxs only get pushed by those who are selling them imo just stick with a broadcom mipsel box and you wont go far wrong, regards mdt

Tbh 130 and the nano looks a bargain saving up my pennys for one myself though from what I can see there are no plans for a vix image which scares me a little, as I am the guy who buys things only to see them too get support stopped 6 months down the line o0

Yes I am that unlucky guy !

So if I do get one I will inform you all so everyone can avoid like the plague

But got to say they are a very nice looking box

I would not worry about support for them as vix support the others in the TM range and this has an identical chipset to the others so should not be a problem on the other hand they may decide that supporting the other 3 is enough but the 4D image which is available now and i have running on a TM-Twin does everything you need anyway and more.

                      Regards

Just a Heads up it looks like OpenAAF have just started supporting the Tm-Nano so thats 2 so far and probably more to come, And a Heads up for the Amiko Range well lets just put it this way there is an internet furore at the moment about some major problems with the Enigma2 side and one of the main UK distributors turning a blind eye so to speak.

In other words Do Not even think about buying any of the Amiko range Full Stop
