I am looking to move from cable to satellite could any one tell me what equipment I require and explain card sharing?

You will need a satellite dish and receiver and no we can't explain card sharing. I think you would be best to have a read of the rules.

get yourself a motorised dish 80/90cm and a vu+solo v3 clone if you intend on using your own subscription... if not a tm5402hd. about ?250 all in then install yourself,regards mdt

Depends what you want to watch, from what sat, what you would like to be able to do with your receiver, whether it would need to be closed source or open source whether or not you want a full epg and hd channels whether you want single, dual of triple tuner whether it would be fixed dish single Sat or multiSat or motorised. What your price range is and your level of ability to do research and follow instructions. There is no exact science to this hobby. You will get out what you put in. There are hundreds of threads on here with a wealth of information. What is right for me may not be right for you. Main considerations are do you want one satellite or many. Do you have a good line of sight from a due South vantage point if you would like to see as many sats as possible. If you just want a cheap option for sly uk then I'm afraid you may have missed the boat.
