    first setup, which dish?

    Evening all,
Im hoping to start buying my equipment this week for my first set up, And ive already hit my first obsticle,
I dont know what size dish i need I see a lot of people saying the bigger the better but its going to be on the front of my house,
Also I dont think i can have a motorised Dish as i do not have a south facing wall, as i live in a semi detached and have a property attached to my south side.
This means i have a east facing front where my current mini dish is mounted and my rear garden faces the west.

What would be my best option here,
Im not looking to be watching every saturday football match but a few would be nice, im more after getting a decent signal and a good variety of chanels similar to my old sky package that was costing me over ?90 per month

Any info would be great thanks.

It all depends on what you really want to watch as many channels as possible or a fixed lot, even with an east facing front wall you could mount a motorised on the front or rear above gutter height and still have a wide ARC.

Or just go for something like an 80cm fixed on the front with 4-5 satellites and then have instant channel change

thanks for the response digicon, when you say with for or 5 satalites does this mean with 4 or 5 LNB's mounted on a fixed dish?

if you are using 1 stb then a quality motorised system would be best. seeing as your going to mount the dish on the front of your house and are concerned about size then a 85cm gibertini dish, dark motor, inverto black ultra lnb with something like a TM5402HD will give you a fantastic selection of channels. as stated by @digicon if you choose T+K brackets with a 2m or so length of scaffold pole to take the dish above the eaves you will then have a excellent arc spread line of sight permitting of a minimum of 45e to 45w but possibly 62e to 61w if your lucky. its better to choose quality parts now as it will save you money in the long run, regards mdt
